Preventing Teen Dating Violence

February 7, 2017

February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month. Violence may be in the form of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse but may also include harassment and stalking. The main keys to preventing dating violence are the following:

  1. Be aware of what constitutes inappropriate, abusive relationships to reduce risk factors
  2. Learn the skills and methods that are necessary to build healthy and safe relationships
  3. Get help to get out of an abusive relationship and learn how to change patterns of at-risk behavior
