Laura’s Art Room at King Street Center Becomes a Reality!

February 2, 2015

On February 18, King Street Center will host a Grand Opening Celebration of its brand new facility in Burlington and has invited the community to attend and check out the building’s transformation. This is the building that houses Laura’s Art Room. While Ned and I had a sneak preview of the site in its late stage of construction, on the 18th we get to see the completed building renovation and expansion as well as the art room dedicated to Laura. Executive board member Ellen Sklar, who recently had a tour, describes the new King Street Center as being “incredibly light, colorful, welcoming and comfortable” and tells us that Laura’s Art Room possesses many superb features, not the least of which is its “spacious, bright, and inviting” ambience. We are eagerly looking forward to attending the opening celebration, and we echo Ellen’s sentiment that we are “… proud of this community for stepping forward to make this new building happen in such a glorious way and … that the LKW Fund has been and will be part of it.” We hope you will join us on the 18th.

We have raised almost $19,000 toward our promised contribution of $40,000, so we are almost halfway there and appreciate any amount to help us reach our goal. If you would like to make a contribution to the LKW Fund’s Art Room Campaign, please click here.
