The Laura Kate Winterbottom Memorial Fund is a Vermont non-profit corporation approved as a tax exempt foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax-deductible. Donations and/or correspondence should be sent to the LKW Fund, PO Box 65176, Burlington, VT 05401.Donations to the LKW Fund can be made in various ways and include the following:
- A cash contribution to the Fund.
- A credit card donation through First Giving.
- A contribution made as a gift to honor or acknowledge a specific person or occasion, such as a wedding, anniversary or birthday.*
- An in-kind donation of goods or services to support Laura’s March or another Fund event.
- A matching gift made in conjunction with an employer’s matching gift program.
- A legacy in the form of a bequest of cash, securities, a charitable annuity or another form of a bequeathal of a specified item.
*If you make a donation to the Fund to honor someone or commemorate an occasion, just let us know the details. We will design a congratulatory card, announce a gift has been made and by whom, and send it to the party for whom it is intended. In accordance with your wishes, we would either include or exclude mention of the amount given.
What We Fund
Contributions made to the LKW Fund are directed towards our two primary purposes:
1. Providing scholarships and other resources which enable disadvantaged children to participate in art or nature programs so that they may learn to appreciate the beauty of art and nature and develop an abiding respect and compassion for the planet and its inhabitants.
2. Supporting programs which help victims of sexual assault and domestic abuse, including affected children, get the services and assistance they need so that their suffering is alleviated and the cycle of violence is not perpetuated.
